How will my Wind Resistor garment outperform standard softshell?
Nikwax Wind Resistor fabric balances tough performance with all-day dry comfort. Lighter in weight than many equivalent fabrics, it provides excellent wind-resistance and water repellency and is a quick drying alternative to softshell. It reduces the effects of wind-chill, is extremely breathable, and is highly resistant to degradation in UV light. The dense weave also protects against biting insects.
Very comfortable worn against the skin, the fabric’s mechanical 4-way stretch ensures good freedom of movement, making it suitable for use during a wide variety of outdoor activities.

In what weather conditions can I use my Alta Trek Trousers?
The Alta Trek Trousers provide wind and shower protection in mixed weather and reduce the effects of windchill to keep you comfortable. They are also highly resistant to degradation when the UV Index is high, and the thigh vents help to control your temperature in warmer weather.
Whilst the trousers are quick drying and can be worn throughout the year, in particularly wet conditions we recommend using a pair of Analogy Waterproof trousers instead, such as our Cascada II’s.
Which garments should I wear with my Nikwax Wind Resistor Trousers for optimum performance?
We recommend using our technical Cambia underwear underneath our Wind Resistor legwear for maximum comfort, and a Cambia baselayer underneath an Alta III Jacket for upper body protection.
Always wash this garment with Nikwax Tech Wash® to remove dirt and revive the water-repellency. If, even after washing, the garment outer absorbs water, it is time to reproof with Nikwax TX.Direct®. If you very heavily soil your garment, for example with tar or oil, you can have it dry cleaned. It will then need to be washed with Tech Wash and reproofed with TX.Direct.
Nikwax Tech Wash and TX.Direct are market leading products. They have been specifically designed and optimised for breathable waterproof fabrics. Application in a washing machine is quick, easy, and ensures that the whole garment is thoroughly cleaned and waterproofed.
Nikwax Tech Wash is a highly effective cleaner. Additionally it will revitalise existing Durable Water Repellency (DWR) and revive breathability. It is the safe way to thoroughly clean your waterproof clothing and equipment.
Nikwax TX.Direct Wash-In has been specifically designed and optimised for breathable waterproof garments; it leaves a flexible water repellent treatment on individual fibres allowing moisture vapour to pass through, maintaining breathability.

Simple repairs can often be done with a needle and thread without compromising the performance of your garment. If it is seriously damaged, you can send it back to Páramo and request a quote for having it repaired. Our Customer Service team can advise you.

Under the terms of our Lifetime Guarantee, any manufacturing defect will be rectified, free of charge, for the life of the garment. Any damage by accident or normal ‘wear and tear’ can be repaired by our workshop at a reasonable cost.
