COMBINATION OFFER

SAVE £15 when you purchase a Ventura Windproof with a Ventura Fleece or Ventura Plus Fleece to create a Duology System.

Use code: VENTURACOMBO at the checkout.

The Ventura Plus Fleece is for outdoor people who need soft, comfortable, weatherproof protection in harsh conditions.

If you enjoy mountaineering, climbing, and winter expeditions, a breathable, warm and highly water repellent fleece is key to adapting your clothing system in mixed conditions. Combine with the Ventura Windproof for waterproof protection in very wet and windy weather.

Worn over a baselayer, the fleece offers excellent protection in cooler, wet weather and can be combined with a Duology Windproof when it is extremely wet and windy, to form an adaptable waterproof system. It can also be worn as a midlayer under a Nikwax® Analogy® waterproof jacket for extra insulation.

The Ventura Plus Fleece offers a high level of water repellency, has generous pocketing, and a design that combines with the Ventura Windproof.

  • The thick pile directional fabric, with a Nikwax Durable Water Repellent finish ensures excellent insulation and wet weather protection.
  • Storage from one large, zipped pocket high on the chest, and from two lower zipped pockets that can also be used for handwarming.
  • A simple, adjustable hood fits well under a helmet for extra warmth and comfort

Nikwax Duology Fleece is lightweight, highly wind resistant and has a durable water repellent finish suitable for use in light showers, protecting against mist and drizzle.

Nikwax Duology Plus Fleece is a thick pile, directional fleece offering superior insulation and high levels of water repellency. It actively pushes liquid water outwards, keeping you dry even in poor weather conditions.

Duology Fleece
A Duology windproof cuts windchill, deflects rain and traps still air in the fibres of Duology fleeces to provide varying levels of insulation and waterproofing depending on the weather conditions and activity. The fleeces come in two weights to suit different requirements.

Choose a Ventura Plus Fleece for maximum adaptability:

The warm, thick pile fleece is highly water resistant and can be worn alone in heavy showers. Combined with a Ventura Windproof, the system provides warm and waterproof protection in cold, wet conditions.

If you are more likely to be in the mountains in warmer, drier weather, we recommend using the Ventura Fleece and Windproof combination for lighter protection.

How will my Páramo Duology Fleece outperform other mid-layers?

Many other mid-layers are designed simply to provide extra insulation when worn over a baselayer. Duology fleeces offer more versatility.

In what weather conditions can I use my Ventura Plus Duology Fleece?

Used alone, the thick pile Ventura Plus Fleece provides protection against wind and rain in wet weather. It can also be used as a midlayer under a Nikwax Analogy waterproof jacket.

In deteriorating weather, combine with a Ventura Windproof for additional protection. In milder weather, the lighter Ventura Fleece is a suitable alternative.

The Ventura Plus Duology combination has been tested in the Leeds University Rain Room to resist at least four hours of heavy rain, which is approximately five times the intensity of normal heavy rain in the UK

Which garments should I use with my Duology Fleece to get optimum performance?

We recommend combining our Fleece garments with the relevant Duology Windproof for varying levels of insulation and waterproofing depending on the weather conditions and activity. The fleeces come in two weights to suit different requirements. Click here for more information.

Any Páramo baselayer worn underneath a Duology fleece will enhance the performance of the combination, keeping you dry and comfortable when working hard.

In extremely cold conditions our Torres overlayers are designed to be worn on top of your outer garments.

Páramo clothing does not rely on hazardous fluorocarbon (PFC) treatments for water-repellency.

Working closely with Nikwax®, Páramo have pioneered a treatment process for waterproofs, fleeces and windproofs which enables us to take untreated fabrics and add Nikwax waterproofing, not reliant on fluorocarbons to repel water. Studies show that fluorocarbons of all kinds persist in the environment and are damaging to human health. Nikwax waterproofing solutions are water-based and use no harmful solvents or propellant gases, are not tested on animals, not harmful to humans, and contain no damaging fluorocarbons.
