Overview
The Bentu Plus Fleece is for outdoor people who need soft, comfortable, weatherproof protection in harsh conditions.
If you enjoy walking, a breathable, warm and highly water repellent fleece is key to adapting your clothing system in mixed conditions. Combine with the Bentu Windproof for waterproof protection in very wet and windy weather.
Worn over a baselayer, the fleece offers excellent protection in cooler, wet weather and can be combined with a Duology Windproof when it is extremely wet and windy, to form an adaptable waterproof system. It can also be worn as a midlayer under a Nikwax® Analogy® waterproof jacket for extra insulation.
The Bentu Plus Fleece offers a high level of water repellency, has generous pocketing, and a design that combines with the Bentu Windproof.
- The thick pile directional fabric, with a Nikwax Durable Water Repellent finish ensures excellent insulation and wet weather protection.
- Safe, secure storage from one easy access chest pocket and one internal drop pocket, both large enough to hold an Ordnance Survey map.
- Two zipped handwarming pockets provide additional storage.
Nikwax Duology Fleece is lightweight, highly wind resistant and has a durable water repellent finish suitable for use in light showers, protecting against mist and drizzle.
Nikwax Duology Plus Fleece is a thick pile, directional fleece offering superior insulation and high levels of water repellency. It actively pushes liquid water outwards, keeping you dry even in poor weather conditions.
A Duology windproof cuts windchill, deflects rain and traps still air in the fibres of Duology fleeces to provide varying levels of insulation and waterproofing depending on the weather conditions and activity. The fleeces come in two weights to suit different requirements.

Choose a Bentu Plus Fleece for maximum adaptability:
The warm, thick pile fleece is highly water resistant and can be worn alone in heavy showers. Combined with a Bentu Windproof, the system provides warm and waterproof protection in cold, wet conditions.
If you are more likely to be out in warmer, drier weather, we recommend using the Bentu Fleece and Windproof combination for lighter protection.
How will my Páramo Duology Fleece outperform other mid-layers?
Many other mid-layers are designed simply to provide extra insulation when worn over a baselayer. Duology fleeces offer more versatility.

In what weather conditions can I use my Bentu Plus Duology Fleece?
Used alone, the thick pile Bentu Plus Fleece provides protection against wind and rain in wet weather. It can also be used as a midlayer under a Nikwax Analogy waterproof jacket.
In deteriorating weather, combine with a Bentu Windproof for additional protection. In milder weather, the lighter Bentu Fleece is a suitable alternative.
The Bentu Plus Duology combination has been tested in the Leeds University Rain Room to resist at least four hours of heavy rain, which is approximately five times the intensity of normal heavy rain in the UK.
Which garments should I use with my Duology Fleece to get optimum performance?
We recommend combining our Fleece garments with the relevant Duology Windproof for varying levels of insulation and waterproofing depending on the weather conditions and activity. The fleeces come in two weights to suit different requirements. Click here for more information.
Any Páramo baselayer worn underneath a Duology fleece will enhance the performance of the combination, keeping you dry and comfortable when working hard.
In extremely cold conditions our Torres overlayers are designed to be worn on top of your outer garments.

How do I look after this Páramo item?
Water repellency can be inhibited by dirt and residues left by normal washing detergents. It is therefore important to always use a soap based product such as Nikwax Tech Wash® to clean your item and revive water repellency. This item works best if it is water repellent.
If, after cleaning, the fabric still absorbs water it’s time to reproof your item using Nikwax TX.Direct®. This can be very easily done at home using your normal washing machine.
What if I damage my Páramo clothing?
Simple repairs can often be done with a needle and thread without compromising the performance of your garment. If it is seriously damaged, you can send it back to Páramo and request a quote for having it repaired. Our Customer Service team can advise you.
